FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS + policies

  • My cancellation policy is 24 hours and the cancellation fee is $100.

A reminder text is sent 24 hours before your designated appointment time. When booking the appointment, I do request a credit/debit card to hold the appointment. This card will not be charged until the end of your session. In the event that your appointment is cancelled within the 24 hour window, your card will be charged the cancellation fee of $100.

I understand that life happens and I strongly believe people should stay home when they are sick and not have to fear financial burden because of it. If you do need to cancel your appointment due to sickness and/or COVID exposure or symptoms, within the 24 hour cancellation period, I will put your cancellation fee as credit towards your next massage which can be booked 10 days after the cancelled appointment and you show no symptoms. With this policy I hope to make it fair where we both don’t experience financial burden due to a cancellation or sickness, your future massage has credit waiting to be used, and everyone is healthy!

No-call, no-shows are not entitled to credit and will be charged the late fee of $100.

  • If you are running late, let me know. We will try to give as much time as possible without interfering with another clients time.

  • The process starts with a comprehensive intake that is sent to you via email through a secure, HIPAA compliant portal. The intake covers your goals for the session, health history, and gives the option for personal preferences (temperature of the room, pressure preferred, etc.)

This should be done at least 24-hours in advance, and I will review it before your session.

When you arrive, we will sit down briefly to review the intake and I will ask and answer any follow-up questions, as well as address your session goals. We might do some brief muscle testing and movements, and then we will begin! Sessions get full hands on time designated and the intake portion does not take away from hands-on time.

After the session, we will review the progress and I will give you any suggestions based on the session, as applicable. I will follow up with my suggested treatment frequency to ensure we reach your goals in the most efficient way possible.

  • I always encourage clients to “dress down to their comfort level”, so some clients may choose to remove all clothing, some keep on socks and underwear, and some stay fully clothed. If you wish to remain clothed for your session, I suggest wearing workout clothing or bringing a change of comfortable, moveable clothing.

I always employ secure draping so clients remain appropriately covered.

  • I sink into muscles using myofascial massage techniques and I do precise and specific trigger point work. I do classify my work as “deep work” but I will never push clients to a point of pain. Deeper muscle tissue can be massaged using slow, steady pressure to effectively “sink” past superficial muscle tissue and get to deeper muscles. Based on your preference of pressure, it is likely to experience some mild discomfort that is still pleasurable and relaxing. I avoid any pressure or techniques that makes a client hurt, tense up, wince, or jump.

  • Trauma informed bodywork means meeting the massage client with relational curiosity, rather than meeting them with preconceived knowledge, assumptions or interpretations about what the client is experiencing. Many people, including myself, seek out bodywork for pain and anxiety, which is physically based and the latter is psychologically based. I invite my clients to set their own goals and aim to understand and honor those. Click here learn more about the trauma-informed bodywork training I have completed.

  • I am fully vaccinated and boosted. I do not require my clients to disclose their vaccination status. You can find my full covid policy here.

  • A standard hospitality rate for massage services is 20%, and tips are greatly appreciated!
